The first single from Makaya McCraven’s (incredible) forthcoming album “In These Times.” Amazing drum and guitar opening, percussion that’s somehow both omnipresent and restrained, a beautiful background texture. Strings and everyone else enters, the whole thing blooms. Later, midway through, it all drops out and the drums sit for a moment alone, then De’Sean Jones’s flute takes prominence and ascends. Gorgeous song.
